The Retail Sales Executive will provide excellent customer service and making customers feel welcome by helping to identify client needs; presenting and answering questions about products and services and recommend solutions to customers. The Customer Sales Executive will be expected to meet sales quotas and contribute to the store’s profitability while portraying a positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve customer issues and ultimately, ensure that customers leave the store satisfied and having had a positive experience.
Greet, handle and direct walk-in customer queries and offer solutions in a satisfactory manner by maintaining a high the standard of quality and service.
Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, benefits, pricing and after-sales services) by developing comprehensive knowledge of company products and services.
Answer customer questions about specific products/services and exercise empathy, patience and professionalism at all times in responding to customers queries regardless of the issue.
Cross-sell products, implement and inform customers about discounts and special offers.
Take daily stock audits to ensure availability, to ensure racks are fully stocked and to adequately manage stock levels.
Manage returns of merchandise.
Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times) and Use appropriate customer service systems, processes and procedures to resolve customer issues accurately and promptly at every point of contact.
Receive, process and log customer requests and queries accurately using the available support resources.
Log customer queries and query classification to assist in follow up; prepare and hand in daily activity report on sales and customer feedback; and provide customer feedback to the Store Manager.
Deliver excellent, professional customer focused service by staying up-to-date with new products/services.
Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media and participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.

Role: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Primary role of the COO is routinely one of operations management responsible for the design, operation and improvement of the systems that create and deliver the company’s products and or services. (Make, Move, Provide) The COO shall have the primary responsibility of leading the day-to-day operations of the business across all markets in accordance with the strategic plan and operating and capital budgets. The main objective is to assist and align with the implementation of the vision and make the CEO and the team to be successful in that endeavor. The focus of this role will be the make, move and provide aspect of the business. All supply chain, manufacturing, logistics and distribution including selling and marketing. It will require working in collaboration with shared services as in Finance, HR, legal and compliance plus R&D that will continue to report to the CEO in the early stages of the business transition.
Work in close partnership with the CEO to provide over all leadership to ensure delivery on the set annual plans and ensure sustained growth;
Develop, in collaboration with the CEO and the Finance Director long term business strategies and annual operating plans;
Establish policies and practices that promote company culture; ethical practices and ensure compliance ;
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth as well as design and implement an appropriate organization structure;
Keep the CEO fully informed in a timely and candid manner of the conduct of the day to day operations of the business including all material deviations from the goals and or objectives and policies established by the Board;
Ensure development of health and safety practices for the business and oversee compliance of all processes to the relevant legislations;
Attend meetings of the Board and its committees and present the information necessary or relevant to the Board or such committee for discharging its duties whenever required;
Assess and manage the principal risks of the business within operations (proposals ,projectsand staffing);
Develop and manage human capital programs related to staff performance in the operations function and all other related activities including staff development and succession planning;
Interact and engage with local authorities across markets on relevant issues; and
Perform other functions related to the office of the COO as may be requested by the CEO

To provide program management direction/leadership and guidance and ensure AfriChild’s overall strategic objectives are met through leading on the research, innovation and knowledge development programs of The AfriChild Centre as well as generate and disseminate new knowledge and evidence relevant to AfriChild’s mission.
Formulate a robust research program with emphasis on the stimulation of new research designed to address the major policy issues being confronted by stakeholders, donor’s inline with AfriChild’s mission.
Initiate, develop, implement, monitor and update an editorial policy for writing reports and memoranda inline with AfriChild’s research agenda and best practices
Develop and maintain a close and effective network of relationships and linkages with Universities, local and, international research and development organizations in line with the Center’s mandate, vision and mission.
Write and present policy paper sat policy dialogue fora in line with AfriChild’s research agenda.
Lead the Program/ Research team and Consultants, supervise, motivate, appraise and build the capacity of staff and lecturers in line with the organizational strategy and policies Coordinate and account for resource mobilization in the directorate inline with the AfriChild’s fundraising strategy.
Contribute to strategic decision making through Senior Management Meetings and support to the Board on request.
Identify program-related knowledge needs for AfriChild, coordinate the generation, storage and access to knowledge in line with the AfriChild Knowledge Management Agenda.
Coordinate planning, budgeting program development, implementation, review and evaluation processes in line with the AfriChild strategy.

Job Location: AfriChild Head Office, Kampala.
Represent AfriChild in a variety of forums and maintain external relationships within a diverse range of stakeholders in the sector including Government, key national and INGOs, donors, academic, social movements, CBO’s, media and other relevant institutions globally.
Develop a funding strategy and plan to mobilise and diversify AfriChild’s resource base to support the implementation of the AfriChild Strategic Plan.
Lead the development and implementation of a communication strategy that will deepen the impact of AfriChild’s work.
Maintain effective HRM activities and programs including recruitment, induction, appraisal, remuneration and staff development policies and practices at all levels to ensure the optimum utilisation and development of AfriChild’s human resources.
Lead in strategy development and implementation by working with the Board and staff to ensure that AfriChild’s strategic plan is fulfilled through programs.
Oversee operations and financial integrity by implementing appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are in accordance with the Centre’s Financial Management framework and policies, and ensure that all related risks are managed.
Develop and manage professional/sound relationships with the Board and report and inform management of any developments that may have governance policy implications.
